This artwork was inspired by an Inktober word prompt. Inktober is a drawing challenge in the month of October in which word prompts are offered for 31 days to encourage keeping up your drawing skills. In 2009, Jake Parker created Inktober to challenge and improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. I decided to find ways to use prompt words to create art that was not how the word was typically depicted. A common theme in my artwork is how we hide who we are from the world. The mind fascinates me, and psychology feeds that fascination.
